As if the rise of AI text-to-image generation wasn’t alarming enough, we now have to deal with AI-generated videos. And yes, it turns out that moving images are even weirder than their static counterparts – partly, perhaps, because the technology is a bit newer and cruder.
We’ve already seen a terrifying video of Will Smith eating spaghetti (link is below if you Really want to see it), and now we have an ad for a fictional pizza brand. And, oddly, I love it? Like all the weirdest art created with AIyou couldn’t quite make it up.
I definitely wasted 3 hours of my life doing this today… Everything is AI from VO to video and images. Assembled in After Effects. Since r/middle of trip
Reddit user PizzaLater shared that everything in the video, from voiceover to video and images, was created using AI. The script was generated by ChatGPT, the images are from MidJourney, the video is courtesy of Runway Gen2, and the voiceover is from Eleven Labs.
While the visuals are suitably unsettling, perhaps the weirdest (and best) thing here is the script. “Like a family, with more cheese” is definitely the best pizza slogan we’ve ever heard. Time will tell what AI-generated video will look like a year from now, but if progress looks like MidJourney in 12 months, then we are a little scared. As one Redditor put it, “We didn’t have any of these tools a year ago. Imagine the quality of AI-generated videos like this a year from now. Amazing stuff.” Ok, ok, here is the link to Will Smith eats spaghetti.
