“Never give up, never give up!” The quoted motto of 1999 cult beloved science fiction comedy Galactic Quest really encapsulates the journey of the Galactic Quest TV showsas Variety reports Paramount+ now to the so anticipated project in “early development”.

On board is the film producer Mark Johnson, who is NOW put into executive production the show. So far there is noo word if it’s completely new reboot, or if he will recruit actors from the film. A version of series planned as from 2015 intended to bring back the original cast – anot idea discarded after the Death of Alan Rickmanwho starred in the film alongside Sigourney Weaver, Tim Allen, Sam Rockwell, and Tony Shalhoub. At the time, the show was hosted on Amazon and was going continue to focus on the fictional cast of heroes from a popular star trek-esque show that gets carried away some very real interplanetary battles.

Galactic Quest was directed by Dean Parisot and written by David Howard and Robert Gordon, based on Howard’s story. One of the most entertaining and enduring movie parodies of the genre, it hit the best of sci-fi tropes while centering a fantasy ensemble, with the late Rickman being one of the stars – we really can’t imagine a series featuring the 1999 crew without him. Maybe starting from scratch as a reboot would be better suited to introduce a new generation to the premise of Athe actors did famous by playing space hero to be mistaken for the real deal by some very confused alien.
