Apple has unveiled the colorful barricade of its first retail store in India, officially marking the upcoming opening of Apple BKC.
The Jio World Drive Mall store in Mumbai is located in the financial district of the country’s capital, in a posh mall owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani. The store windows currently offer a warm welcome to passers-by with Apple’s classic “Hello Mumbai” greeting.
This is a historic moment for Apple as it opens its first-ever store in India, the company said: “Inspired by the iconic Kaali Peeli taxi art unique to Mumbai, the Apple BKC design features colorful interpretations of the decals combined with many Apple products and services for our customers to experience”
Expansion in South Asia
News of Apple’s upcoming BKC store comes after reports that Apple is ramping up iPhone production in India in hopes of building a quarter of all iPhones in the country.
During Apple’s earnings call in December, CEO Tim Cook said the company was “very optimistic about India” and that it was an “extremely exciting market.” However, the opening of the first store in the country is only the beginning for Apple in the South Asian market.
This reveal is very exciting for fans of Apple and the best iPhones in India. Now customers will be able to walk into a store to purchase an iPhone 14 or iPhone 15 when the new model is unveiled later this year. The Apple Store is also opening up huge repair opportunities at the Genius Bar as Indian customers no longer need to use online support to find the solutions for their devices.
To celebrate the opening of the new store, you can download the new Apple BKC wallpaper (opens in a new tab) and listen to a playlist (opens in a new tab) on Apple Music hyping up the release of the amazing store.
