TL; DR

  • The price of a YouTube TV subscription drops from $65 per month to $73 per month.
  • The increase will take effect for existing customers from April 18.
  • Meanwhile, the service cuts the cost of the 4K Plus add-on in half.

YouTube Television East increase its price and will now cost double its original price when it launched in 2017. With the latest increase, the monthly price of the TV streaming service drops from $65/month to $73/month. The service also notifies current YouTube TV subscribers of the price hike through their registered email IDs.

If you have a HBO Max add-on to your YouTube TV subscription, you’ll also pay the additional $16 per month, bringing your monthly YouTube TV bill to $89. The service attributes the price increase to the rising cost of content for the platform.

Meanwhile, prices for the 4K Plus add-on are coming down. Google announced that it will now cost $10 per month, down from $20 per month. So if you’re a YouTube TV subscriber right now, you’ll actually get a smaller monthly bill until the new prices go into effect.

If you subscribe to YouTube TV today, the new higher prices will apply. Meanwhile, existing YouTube TV customers will see their subscription costs increase from April 18.

For a monthly fee of $73, you’ll continue to get the same basic YouTube TV services, including over 100 TV channels, a DVR with unlimited storage, the ability to share your account with up to six people, and the ability broadcast on three different screens simultaneously.
