The apology tour continues.
Whoopi Goldberg found herself in the hot seat with the public once again after she used the word “gypped” during a recent episode of View.
According entertainment tonight, Goldberg was talking about the 2020 election, giving his take on Trump supporters, saying some were “people who still believe he got, you know, kind of screwed up in the election.” Viewers were unhappy with his choice of words, as the word “gypped” is derived from the word “gypsy” and is seen as a racist and derogatory slur towards Roma people.
Goldberg jumped in front of the camera to record an apology that View posted on their Twitter account.
“You know, when you’re a certain age, you use words that come from, you know, when you were a kid or you remember saying,” Goldberg said in his apology. “And that’s what I did today, and I shouldn’t have.”
“I should have thought about it a little longer before saying it, but I didn’t. I should have said ‘cheated’ and used another word, and I’m really, really sorry,” she added.

Goldberg was previously in hot water after two separate occasions of using insensitive words.
“The Holocaust is not about race. It’s about the inhumanity of man to man,” she said during an episode in February. “It’s two groups of white people.”
His opinions resulted in a two-week suspension from View painting. “Yesterday on our show, I misspoke,” she said at the time. “[The Holocaust] is indeed a question of race,” she continued, “because Hitler and the Nazis viewed the Jews as an inferior race. Now words matter, and mine are no exception. I regret my comments and correct myself. I also stand with the Jewish people, as they know and you all know, because I have always done this.
The heat resurfaced in December when viewers accused Goldberg of doubling down on his February remarks.
“Remember who they killed first,” she said The temperature about his view that the Holocaust “was not originally” about race. “They weren’t racially killing; they killed physically. They were killing people they considered mentally deficient. And then they made that decision.
