Maybe all post-apocalyptic fiction tells us something.
Let’s be honest: even if we would like to predict a utopian future in pink for Earththere just isn’t much drama for Hollywood to tap into from that kind of upbeat, optimistic outlook, hence the proliferation of disastrous doomsday fare found in science fiction films and television series these days.
It’s in this gloomy dark arena that a new apocalyptic sci-fi series from Apple TV+ titled “Silo” will premiere on May 5, 2023. Adapted from The New York Times best-selling novels by American author Hugh Howey , the “Silo” trilogy consists of “Wool” (2011), “Shift” (2013) and “Dust” (2013) and focuses on the last shreds of humanity trying to survive inside a colossal underground bunker of 144 levels and avoiding any attempt to venture outside for a scary contaminated world.
