It takes a particularly daring person to reveal a bold beauty at a major event or an awards show. With the inordinate attention (and camera lenses) focused on something as big as the Oscars, too many people are choosing to play it safe – but it never was. by Megan Fox aesthetic prerogative. Rather than sticking to her signature shiny, raven hair for the The Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party, she debuted an unexpected new color with an even more surprising source. Megan Fox’s new red hair was directly inspired by The little Mermaid, shared her hairdresser. With Disney’s new live-action adaptation on the horizon, it only makes sense that this rich, summery red would become the trendiest color of the season.
According to the famous hairdresser Dimitris Giannetos, the goal was to create a look that complemented Fox’s sultry after-party outfit. “She’s wearing a beautiful black dress, so we wanted the hair to look very simple and modern,” he explained in a press release. Not only did Fox’s color turn into a warm color, hot copper, but the length and shape are just as explosive, with plenty of bone skimming the cheekbones and impressive volume. Really, though, the most impressive element of the look is just how perfectly this shade of red suits Fox — in a Mount Rushmore of Redheads, Fox’s excellent new color would put her somewhere between Amy Adams and Ice Spice.
To nail this fluffy blowout, Giannetos worked with select products for shape and all-night hold. “I started out using UNITE’s ELEVATION Moss in the towel-dried hair in order to give body and lift the roots of the hair”, he detailed in this same press release. Once dry, I used some TEXTURIZA Spray to maintain volume and fullness. To lock everything in place, he sprayed the entire style with hairspray.
This is far from the first time Fox has turned red. Last October, Giannetos gave her a temporary makeover again, though this red is more vibrant and purple to match the moody and spooky season. Fox’s Oscars post-party red is much warmer and sun-streaked, the warm-weather counterpart of October’s color.
Knowing Fox, that new color and style probably didn’t even survive the night. If red is any indication, however, it will serve as spring and summer hair color inspiration for quite a while.
