Hunter Schafer only needed a feather to raise the bar for daring looks at Vanity Fair Oscars 2023 after the party.
Best known for her portrayal of Jules Vaughn on the show “Euphoria“, the actor and model showed up to the annual soiree in a long Ludovic de Saint Sernin skirt and a strategically placed feather, worn like a bandeau top.
Schafer’s all-white look was designed by law cockroachwho has garnered praise from fashion outlets for her daring work with her fellow ‘Euphoria’ star Zendaya.
After Roach shared a photo of Schafer on Instagramhe was showered with praise from several of his celebrity clients and friends, including Katy Perry and Zendaya herself.
“A murder,” wrote photographer Myles Loftin, while stylist Thiago Biagi simply proclaimed, “No words.”
Schafer, who is transgender, has been a rising star in Hollywood since the premiere of “Euphoria” in 2019. She has used her TV fame as a platform to defend for LGBTQ rightsand is set to hit the big screen this fall in “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
“I’ve already spent a lot of my life trying to be someone I’m not,” she said. told Harper’s Bazaar in 2021. “And even though that’s my job title, I’m not interested in doing that again for long periods of time…I want to have longevity as an artist, in whatever form that comes. The only thing I have faith in is the evolution of my way of making art. It’s something that’s growing in me all the time.”
Noticeably absent from the Vanity Fair party was Schafer’s “Euphoria” co-star and real-life boyfriend, Dominic Fike. The couple were the first romantically linked in the press in January last year.
“Some people fall in love, fucking months after they meet, or years after,” Fike told GQ of her relationship in 2022. “We developed an attraction – she accelerated it so fast. We really got to know each other so quickly.
