It’s been too many cruel summers since Taylor Swift last party on tour. Five years (!) to be exact. Long story short, it was a bad time.
Fortunately, that era ended with her, well, Circuit “Eras” launch scheduled for March 17 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona (fun fact: she kicked off her reputation tour in 2018 at the same location, when it was known as the University of Phoenix Stadium). She will travel all over the country, from Phoenix to Philadelphia to Los Angeles.
But what exactly will the superstar sing? With 10 studio albums and several re-recordings, there are almost too many songs to choose from.
But if we did it our way — and we do, because a publisher approved this piece — here’s what she’d sing and in what order.
‘Lavender Haze’ (‘Midnights’)
‘Cruel Summer’ (‘Lover’)
‘Sparks Fly’ (‘Talk Now’)
‘Delicate’ (‘Reputation’)
‘You belong to me’ (‘Fearless’)
The “Eras” tour is to begin with his current era, so “Midnights“first title”lavender mistmakes the most sense. Can’t you see her strutting around in a luscious lavender haze whispering “meet me at midnight?” She should quickly pivot to “Cruel Summer,” which (rudely) isn’t never became a single and never made it on Swift’s now-defunct “Loverfest” tour due to the pandemic. An ever-evolving chameleon, “Sparks Fly,” will follow with the crowd shouting “let it all go.” fall now” loudly. She’ll slow things down with Reputation‘s “Delicate”, then have the crowd screaming again with “You belong With Me“Is it cool that we said all that?
‘Cornelia Street’ (‘Lover’)
‘Bejeweled’ (‘Midnights’)
‘Champagne Problems’ (‘Evermore’)
“I Did Something Wrong” (“Reputation”)
‘Love Story’ (‘Fearless’)
Even Grammy-winning pop stars need breaks between sets. When we return to Swift country, she’ll pull out the guitar and deliver a heartbreaking acoustic version of “Cornelia Street,” then quickly throw it offstage to make the whole place sparkle with “Bejeweled.” Change costume to ballgown and change scenery to staircase for Always“Champagne Troubles” that will have you screaming “she would have made such a beautiful bride.” This melancholy turns into an energetic “I Did Something Bad” followed by an optimistic “Love Story”. Baby, we say yes to all these times at once.
‘Out of the Woods’ (‘1989’)
‘You’re all alone, kid’ (‘Midnights’)
‘State of Grace’ (‘Red’)
‘August’ (‘Folklore’)
‘Our Song’ (‘Taylor Swift’)
Somehow “1989” has yet to make it onto this setlist, but it changes that with a welcome “Out of the Woods” (and a guest appearance from Jack Antonoff , nothing less). She continues the “Midnights” train with the hit “You’re On Your Own, Kid” followed by “Red” leader “State of Grace.” We slip away like a moment in time with “August”, and just before you’re about to take a nap, the opening notes of “Our Song” take you back to the mid-years. It’s late and your mom doesn’t know!

‘Wildest Dreams’ (‘1989’)
‘Miss Americana and Prince Heartbreak’ (‘Lover’)
‘Blank Space’ (‘1989’)
‘All Too Well – 10 Minute Version’ (‘Red – Taylor’s Version’)
‘Anti-Heroes’ (‘Midnights’)
It’s time to get melancholic as the night draws to a close. “Wildest Dreams” blends in perfectly with the “Lover” track “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince” which also never got the unique treatment (in case we didn’t mention it, justice for “Lover”). If you haven’t already lost your voice by this point, you will at the end of “Blank Space.” Boys don’t want love unless it’s torture, and Swift certainly didn’t warn you before she jumped into 10 minutes.”Very goodBut the gig can’t end on such a sour note. Put an “X” next to “Anti-Hero” on your setlist bingo card — no problem in sight tonight, no matter what Swift sings.
Again: ‘Mirrorball’ (‘Folklore’)
“We’ll never get back together” (“Red”)
‘Could have should have’ (‘Midnights – 3 am Edition)
And you thought the night was over?! A few more Swiftie surprises: She’ll show you every version of yourself with “Mirrorballas dozens of disco balls float above the stage. You’ll completely lose your voice for real with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” then scream-whisper-cry on the track “Midnights 3 am Edition.” “could have should have.” God rest our souls – we’re still in our Swift era.
