Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again.
Reported by THR, Bernthal’s Punisher will join Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in the upcoming Disney+ series. Bernthal first appeared as a character in season 2 of the Netflix original series Daredevil. He also starred in his own Netflix series called The Punisher from 2017 to 2019.
Frank Castle earns the name “The Punisher” after killing those responsible for his family’s death. In the original show, Daredevil helps Frank fake his death, setting the stage for his own adventures in spin-off series The Punisher.
Now, fans will be able to see the character again in Daredevil: Born Again, which is slated for an 18-episode season. The show will not pick up exactly where the original series left off, as Cox instead described the series as “remaking this show in a new way”. The star also said Born Again might be “slightly different” from the original. The show is slated to air on Disney+ starting in the spring of 2024.
Daredevil: Born Again is just one of the few MCU shows in the works. Phases 5 and 6 also include Secret Invasion, Loki: Season 2, X-Men ’97, What If…? Season 2, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and more.
