King Charles III could offer the Duke and Duchess of Sussex an apartment in Buckingham Palace as residence in the UK when they visit the country, it has been reported.
The monarch asked the couple to leave their former British home, Frogmore Cottageand is said to have given the keys to his brother, the disgraced Duke of York.
But reports that he is about to extend an ‘olive branch’ come after Prince Harry participated in a new interview with author Gabor Maté for readers of his memoirs, Spare, on Saturday evening (March 4).
The suite of rooms that the King can offer Harry and Meghan Markle previously belonged to Prince Andrew.
The Sunday Mail quoted a source as saying: “Her Majesty is furious [with Harry]as if [Prince] William. But the king is no villain. He does not wish to see his brother Andrew homeless or penniless. Nor does he want to deprive the Sussexes of a base in the UK.
“London is a better fit. The Sussexes have always wanted rooms at Buckingham Palace. They could be Andrew’s old rooms, which are currently vacated.
Earlier this year, the king would have told Andrew he could no longer use his suite of rooms at the palace.
Previously stated sources The Independent This the Duke now lives as a “recluse” at the Royal Lodgehis home for two decades, but his time there may be coming to an end and the King would have liked him to move to Frogmore Cottage instead.
But Andrew is said “resist” such a move from the 30-room mansion and has not yet accepted the offer.

Although royal experts believe the King’s the decision to evict Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage is linked to the publication of the prince’s memoirssources said the couple will still receive an invitation to the coronation in May.
The Sunday Mail reports that the king and queen consort are “furious” and “tired” by revelations in Harry’s bestseller. In its pages, Harry alleged that his brother William once physically attacked him and pushed him to the ground, and accused Camilla of ‘leaking’ stories to the press.
The Independent contacted the palace for comment.

After Mate pointed to a section in Spare in which the prince wrote about the lack of hugs he received from members of the royal family, Harry said: “It leaves me now in the position, as a father of two, to make sure that I smother them with love and affection.”
He added: ‘As a father I feel a huge responsibility not to pass on any trauma or I guess negative experiences that I had as a child or as a man growing up and that’s work.
“It’s working and paying attention to my behavior and my reactions to my two children on a daily basis.”
Harry also reflected on his marriage to Meghan and praised her for helping him at a time when he felt ‘stuck’.
“People said my wife saved me,” he told Mate. “I was stuck in this world, and she came from a different world and helped me out.”
