Halle Berry’s Marvel and DC roles (Storm in X-Men, Catwoman) may be hotly debated now – but no one can accuse her of being bitter or insecure. Berry tends to be the first to poke fun at herself or laugh wistfully at being on the fringes of the superhero movie boom of the 2000s – and today is no different.
After a meme on Storm in the X men movies went viral on social media, Halle Berry decided to stamp it with her own .gif, which indicated how extremely hilarious she thought the meme was:

If you don’t get the meme: Twitter user @Steph_I_Will took an image of Charles Xavier from Patrick Stewart and put it side-by-side with an image of Berrry from his 1997 social comedy film B*A *P*S (or “Black American Princesses). The caption of the meme reads “Ororo, can you hear me? My name is Professor Charles Xavier. I’m setting up a school for gifted people like you. Wanna get robbed?”
The TikTok generation loves these kinds of memes that take famous moments from movies, music, sports, or just LIFE, and make them “funnier” or “bolder” by captioning them in street linguistics. Good to see Halle Berry having fun with it, instead of taking it in an offensive or disrespectful way. Then again, it’s arguable that Berry must have a humorous wit about the joke, because B*A*P*S isn’t exactly the most “PC” movie ever made, and its premise and humor have not necessarily aged. all good.
Halle Berry’s role as Storm in the X-Men movies, on the other hand, seems to be aging well. When the first X-Men movie came out in 2000, Orororo Munroe/Storm’s version of Berry was one of the biggest targets of fan criticism. Berry’s attempt at having an “African accent” was dismal – as was the cheap wig she was forced to wear. While Berry would settle into character better in later films, that early performance was pretty hard to forget.
Marvel fans believed for a second that Halle Berry’s Storm would be part of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – but that didn’t happen. However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe X-Men are coming, and the current multiverse saga has great potential to surprise with callback cameos. Halle Berry could indeed have to start getting back into Storm mode…
“I would revisit any of them, actually,” Berry said ComicBook.com. “I loved all of these characters and was always grateful to be able to play them and be a part of these great franchises, you know? So I would revisit any of them.”
