Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 will be his last season. Paramount+ announced that the show is coming to an end, while also announcing that Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 won’t arrive until 2024. The cast and crew of Star Trek: Discovery are already announcing the end of the show – starting with lead actress / producer Sonequa Martin-Green:
“I find it hard to believe that this breathtaking journey with ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ is coming to an end,” said Sonequa Martin-Green. “I am incredibly blessed by God to have played Captain Michael Burnham and to have been part of a legacy alongside an extraordinary cast, a phenomenal crew and a remarkable writing team. To our most in solidarity with CBS Studios and Paramount+, who have insisted on making history television, I am deeply grateful. I am also deeply grateful for the creative collaboration with our showrunners Michelle Paradise and Alex Kurtzman, as well as Olatunde Osunsanmi and the incomparable team of executive producers.
I’ll never forget what it was like to stick together as a show family, cradling the legacy of “Trek” with everyone in the franchise at large and with fans. Fans welcomed us into their hearts as we launched a new iteration of “Trek” and a comprehensive entertainment platform, and we’ll never forget that. 65 episodes later, here’s to the entire “Star Trek: Discovery” company, the series and its fifth and final season, its beloved fans, and everyone looking forward to a brighter future. Star Trek: Discovery began in 2017 with the relaunch of the star trek Universe TV on CBS All Access. The success of the series gave rise to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fallout, as well as opening the door to Star Trek: Picard, Lower Decks, Prodigy, and a greater future ahead. In fact, it could be those same future plans that now require Discovery end and make way (for example: whatever Following New generation series Picard’s The Final Season is also taking place…).
